Faculty Brief
The Faculty of Pharmacy at Al-Ahliyya Amman University, established in 1990, is recognized as a leading academic entity in pharmaceutical education and a key contributor to the advancement of pharmaceutical sciences and healthcare development in Jordan. As part of Al-Ahliyya Amman University, the first private university in Jordan, the Faculty is committed to preparing highly qualified pharmacists equipped with the scientific knowledge, professional competencies, and practical skills required to address contemporary and emerging healthcare challenges. The Faculty comprises three academic departments: Pharmaceutical Sciences, Pharmaceutics and Pharmaceutical Technology, and Biopharmaceutics and Clinical Pharmacy. It delivers a comprehensive academic framework supported by innovative pedagogical approaches, including Team-Based Learning (TBL), experiential education, technology-enhanced instruction, and research-informed teaching, ensuring a dynamic and outcome-oriented learning environment. The Faculty is committed to maintaining the highest standards of academic quality and continuous improvement, as demonstrated by its international accreditation and sustained quality assurance initiatives. These efforts ensure alignment with global academic standards and responsiveness to the evolving needs of the healthcare and pharmaceutical sectors. In support of its strategic mission, the Faculty launched the Master of Pharmaceutical Sciences program in 2009 and established the Pharmacological and Diagnostic Research Centre (PDRC) in 2020. These initiatives strengthen research capacity, foster interdisciplinary collaboration, and promote impactful scientific contributions in areas including pharmacology, pharmaceutical technology, drug delivery systems, clinical pharmacy, cancer therapeutics, and pharmaceutical biotechnology. The Faculty is dedicated to excellence in education, research, and professional service, while contributing to the advancement of healthcare systems and the preparation of future healthcare leaders in Jordan and beyond.
